Sleeping Beauty

Rosie had fallen asleep at her desk again. Philip watched her eyes flick back and forth beneath her lids. He envied her. It had been ten days since he'd been able to get a full night's sleep. Picking up his notebook, he began to sketch.

"Mr. Prinze, eyes forward if you please," Ms. Merryweather droned. He almost hadn't heard his teacher. Everything she said sort of mushed together like the voices in the Charlie Brown cartoons.

"Wah wah wah wah wah."

With a final glance at the lovely girl slumbering next to him he focused on the lesson at hand.

Feeling Better

I'm feeling better but still not a hundred percent. I get tired very easily.

But here I am writing! Yeah!

I just looked up and got a fist pump from my little golden Chinese cat.

So what if he's solar powered and his arm never stops waving? It still felt like a fist pump.

Thank you, little golden cat.

It's So Hard to Write When You're Sick

I had good intentions. I wanted to start writing daily on this blog again, but I caught another cold from my daughter last week and am still recovering.

Just so you know I have been writing elsewhere, but I can't keep up with three blogs. I'm going to think long and hard about what I want to focus on.

And how many times have I said that?

I Took a Break

Yeah, I took a break from this blog. Sorry. I burnt myself out writing a story a day. And guess what! I'm going to do it again!

Yep, I'm crazy.

I found a site called Story A Day and I've been following it loosely, just thinking about how I already did that in April. But as I read all the great tips I started thinking about how using their prompts could actually help me further my current novels!

So here I go again...
